Awati Township, belonging to Korla City, Bayingolin Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the southwest of Korla City. It is connected with Awati farm in the East, halayugong Township in the south, Puhui District in the west, tuobuliqi Township and Yingxia Township in the north, 10km away from Korla municipal government, with a total area of 165.56km2.

In the 36th year of the Republic of China (1947), Awati township was divided into Shangying Awati village and Xiaying Awati village; in 1984, Awati commune was changed into Awati township. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in Awati was 14421. In 2019, Awati Township governs 8 administrative villages, and the people's government is stationed in akeirike village.
