Jianguo Road

The southeast corner of the ancient city of Xi'an, north of Jianguomen to dongdajie.

During the reign of Emperor Guangxu of Qing Dynasty, it was called Xiaocha City, which echoed dacha city. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, in order to commemorate this great historical event, it was renamed Jianguo Road in 1952.

Although Jianguo Road Street in Jianguo gate is short, it carries the weight of history. Numerous historical celebrities have lived here, and many important institutions have been set up here. According to the research of experts and scholars, sun Wuji, a famous Minister of Tang Dynasty, lives on Jianguo Road. During the period of the Republic of China, the residence of General Zhang Xueliang, an important figure in the Xi'an Incident, was located here. Now Zhang Xueliang mansion has been listed as a national key cultural relic protection unit by the state, and the Xi'an Incident memorial hall has been established on the basis of the former site.
