Baiyu township is located in the east of Suining County, adjacent to Wugang and Chengbu Miao Autonomous Counties. It has 68 villager groups in 9 villages, including luojiapu, baijiatian, tangxuanwan, Pingtou, zengjiaqiao, fujiawan, huangyangping, tanshanmiao and Shiping.

There are 2114 households with a total population of 8051 and a labor force of 4587. The cultivated land area is 7835 mu, and the mountain forest area is 138000 mu. It mainly produces rice, bamboo and wood. The main economic form is bamboo and wood processing and labor export. The township has a bamboo processing plant, a jigsaw processing plant, two wood processing plants. Li Bai highway is the main road connecting Baiyu Township with the outside world. Luokou mountain is a famous scenic spot in the county, with dangerous peaks, strange trees, high dam, green lake, secluded streams and deep caves. Luokoushan medium reservoir is mainly used for irrigation and power generation. Baiyu township has beautiful environment and superior climate. The villages of Shiping, Tanshan and huangyangping have high altitude and large temperature difference between day and night, which are suitable for planting watermelon, tomato, Pueraria, Gastrodia elata, Ganoderma lucidum and other fruits, vegetables and medicinal materials.
