Dongxia Township
Dongxia Township, belonging to Huangyuan County, Xining City, Qinghai Province, is located in the east of Huangyuan County, bordering Duoba town of Huangzhong County in the East, Gonghe town in the south, Chengguan town in the west, shangwuzhuang town in the north, and lanlongkou town in the northeast. The area is 117.27 square kilometers. In 2018, there were 4815 registered residence population.
In 1949, Dongxia township was set up along the old system. In 1958, it merged with Chengguan town and established Dongfeng commune. In 1961, Dongxia commune was established. In 1965, it was incorporated into the suburban commune. In 1972, Dongxia commune was established. In 1984, Dongxia township was established. As of October 2019, Dongxia rural area has jurisdiction over 13 administrative villages.
In 2018, there were 8 industrial enterprises in Dongxia Township and 9 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

The geomorphic type of Dongxia township is Canyon zone. The terrain is slightly higher in the West and lower in the East, higher in the north and lower in the south, with an altitude of 2500-2550m. The highest point is Mt. etou, with an altitude of 3200m; the lowest point is the lower neck, with an altitude of 2450m.

Dongxia Township belongs to Huangshui River system. Huangshui River enters Xinmin village from the West and flows into Xining city from the west to the East, with a river length of more than 20 kilometers.
