Caotan Township
Caotan Township, belonging to Kangle County, Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, is located in the southwest of Kangle County, adjacent to Lintao County, Dingxi City in the East, Wuhu Township, Jinggu town and Taizishan Forest District in the south, Shangwan Township in the West and Yanzhi town in the north. The area is 53.31 square kilometers. In 2018, 19547 people registered residence.
On October 27, 1955, Jinggu district was preserved and the remaining five districts were withdrawn. The three autonomous townships of Xielu, Halu and Dagangou are reserved, 41 townships are merged into 20 townships, and caotan and Xinji townships are merged into caotan townships. On September 2, 1958, the system of administrative villages and natural villages below the township level was abolished. In March 2005, the system of PUBA township was abolished, and Puba, Suhe, Dongwan, Huaigou and mujiayao villages were merged into caotan township. In October 2019, caotan countryside governs 13 administrative villages.
In 2018, there were two industrial enterprises in caotan township.
