Huanghua town

Huanghua township is located in the central and southern highland of Chongxin County, 16 kilometers away from the county seat, adjacent to Mulin Township in the East, Liangyuan township of Lingtai County in the south, Xinyao town in the West and Jinping Town in the north. It covers an area of 92.69 square kilometers and has a population of 7412 (2017). It has jurisdiction over eight administrative villages. The total terrain inclines from northwest to Southeast. The tableland is long and narrow from north to south. There are many gullies in the northeast, and the land erosion is serious. The average altitude is 1300 meters.

Historical evolution

Gejia and Wenjia townships were set up in 1949, merged into Mulin commune in 1958, established Huanghua commune in 1961, and changed to township in 1983. In 1996, it covers an area of 72.3 square kilometers and has a population of 6000. It governs six administrative villages: huanghuayuan, Yangjiagou, youfuzhuang, liangshuiquan, gaozhuangzi and nanmazhai. In 2002, it covers an area of 72.27 square kilometers and has jurisdiction over 6 villages and 41 communities, with a total of 1369 households and 6059 people. At the end of 2003, Gaonian village, Shuimo village and Nangou Forest Farm (11 communities, 35 square kilometers, 364 households and 1596 people) in the former Chicheng rural area were assigned to Huanghua township. After adjustment, Huanghua Township borders Mulin Township and Liangyuan township of Lingtai County in the East, Xinyao town in the southwest and Jinping Town in the northwest.
