Ancient dwellings in Nanbian Village

Located in group 3, Nanbian village, Xiaofeng, Huanghua Town, it was built in the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty. Nearly 200 years ago, the ancient building complex faces north from the South and faces mountains and rivers. On the hillside less than 100 meters apart, there are two ancient dwellings covering an area of more than 1000 square meters, one is Baohe and the other is laohao. It is said that they were originally built by two big landlords with surname Yi. Most of the ancient dwellings are of one-story brick and wood structure. Part of the building is a two-story civil structure. The gate building has a horse head wall. The stone carvings of flowers, fish and birds at the foot of the gate are vivid and clear. The doors and windows are made of high-quality wood with exquisite patterns, such as magpie making plum blossom, three friends in winter, Eight Immortals crossing the sea, birthday blessing and so on. The lines are smooth and picturesque. "Laohao" has 13 patios, 6 of which are well preserved, "Baohe" has 12 patios, and 11 of which are well preserved.

Gubing Village

Located in Zhongling village, Huanghua Town, along the mountain peaks 25 km from Xinping, the West Branch of Huangbai River, to QILIXIA, there are about 70 remains of gubing village. In particular, Bashan village, Jiaoyang village and dangyangtou village are the most dangerous. The walls of Shanzhai are all built with stones. The thickness of the walls is 1.2-1.5 meters. The inner wall of the parapet is built with a 0.5 meter wide sentry walk. The stone walls are equipped with lookouts every 3 meters and arrow buttresses. Inside and outside the village, there are fortresses, trenches and beacon towers. The fortresses are separated by 1-2 kilometers and run through each other. Some of the fortresses also have secret roads to attack or retreat. According to the on-the-spot investigation of cultural relics experts, this ancient soldier village is the largest ancient soldier village community site in Hubei Province.

Ancient Town Fort

Located in Longfeng Mountain, Zhongling village, Huanghua Town, the ancient town fortress is built along the mountain, surrounded by cliffs, stone stairs and stone steps. According to the stone inscriptions of guchengzhaibao, guchengzhaibao originated in the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period. The local tribal leaders built it to prevent mountain torrents. According to the records of Yichang Prefecture and relevant historical materials, the Three Gorges area is a place for military strategists in the past dynasties. On the limestone partition of Lingguan Hall of Chaoyang temple, it is full of rose like, Chimonanthus praecox, cherry blossom and other stone flowers. The stone rock is about 10 meters long and 1 meter high. On the left side of the stone flower cluster, there are dragon shape, dragon head, dragon horn and dragon whisker; on the right side, there are phoenix head, phoenix tail and Phoenix wing, and the whole stone is blooming The flower is a picture of dragon and Phoenix surrounded by flowers. The folk old people say that it is a picture of auspicious heaven.
