Mapo Town

Mapo Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Shunyi District, Beijing, is located between 116 ° 34'57 "~ 116 ° 37'15" E and 40 ° 09'01 "~ 40 ° 11'39" n. It is located in the northwest of Shunyi District, adjacent to Shuangfeng street by xiaozhonghe in the East, Nanfaxin town in the south, Gaoliying town in the west, zhaoquanying town and Niulanshan town in the north. During the period of the Republic of China, most villages in Mapo area belonged to the first district (Renhe Town). In April 1949, it belonged to the 11th district of Shunyi County; in April 1950, it belonged to the first district. In May 1953, Mapo township was established. In 1958, it belonged to Mapo management area of Chengguan people's commune. In January 1970, Mapo people's commune was established. In August 1983, the commune was transformed into a township.
