Linping town
Linping Town, belonging to Qian County, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the southwest of Qian county. It is adjacent to Zhoucheng town in the East, Sufang town in Wugong County in the south, Zhaogong town in Fufeng County in Baoji City in the west, and Diantou town in Yongshou County in the north. The maximum distance between East and West is 9.5 km, and the maximum distance between North and south is 13.5 km, with a total area of 101.77 square kilometers.
As of June 2020, Linping town has 14 administrative villages. As of 2018, the number of registered residence in Linping town was 46067. In 2011, the total agricultural output value of Linping town reached 191 million yuan, and the total social commodity sales reached 210 million yuan.
Historical evolution
Emperor Gao of the Western Han Dynasty granted Jin she the title of Linping king by virtue of his meritorious service. He set up Linping Pavilion here, so it got its name.
It was the fiefdom of Jin she, the Xinwu marquis in the early Han Dynasty. It was also the site of the capital of Wei, the northern and Southern Dynasties and the Northern Zhou Dynasty.
After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Linping joint security was set up, and then Linping township was changed.
Linping district (seven districts) was established after the founding of the people's Republic of China.
In 1956, Linping township was established from Linping, Hanzhai and malixiang.
In 1958, Linping commune was established.
In November 1983, it was changed into Linping town.
In 2011, Linping town abolished Shiniu Township and merged into Linping town.
