Gaoya town
Gaoya Town, belonging to Qianyang County, Baoji City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the northeast of Qianyang County, connecting Jiufang township of Linyou County in the East, cuijiatou town and Nanzhai town in the south, zhangjiayuan town in the west, Xinji township of Lingtai County in Gansu Province, and Baili town of Lingtai County in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 17.1 kilometers, and the maximum distance from north to south is 21.6 kilometers, with a total area of 190.66 square kilometers.
As of June 2020, Gaoya town has six administrative villages. As of 2018, the population of Gao Ya registered residence was 4523. In 2011, the total agricultural output value of Gaoya town reached 56.2 million yuan, the total industrial output value reached 1.7 million yuan, and the total retail sales of social consumer goods reached 10 million yuan.
Historical evolution
It is named after the steep slope of Dala mountain in the east of the town.
In Ming Dynasty, it was called xuebaili in Jingxin township.
In Qing Dynasty, it was called jiebaili.
After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it was called Tuanjie Township.
In July 1949, it was set as Gaoya district.
In August 1958, the district was removed and the township was established.
In May 1961, Gaoya commune was established. In September of the same year, it was divided into Gaoya commune and pushe commune, with a total of 16 production teams under its jurisdiction.
In May 1984, it was changed into Gaoya Township and pushe Township, with a total of 18 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.
In December 2001, it merged with pushe township to form Gaoya Township, which governs 15 administrative villages.
In July 2002, Nanling, Baimiao, hongyasi, cangfang and Xuhuan villages were abolished and merged into Dongzhuang, xuebaidian, Liugou, yangchuansi and Gaoming villages respectively. It governs 10 villages.
In July 2011, Gaoya town was established.

Gaoya town is located in the deep mountain area at the junction of Shaanxi and Gansu provinces. The terrain is high in the South and low in the north. Qianshan watershed runs across the south of the town. The main peaks are pushe mountain and Xuebai mountain. Xuebai mountain, the highest point in the territory, is located in xuebaidian village, 1476m above sea level; goumen formation, the lowest point, is located in Yaoya village, 1101m above sea level.
Climatic characteristics
Gaoya town has a warm temperate semi humid continental monsoon climate. It is characterized by cold and drought in spring, long winter and short summer, 180 days in winter and more than 30 days in summer, with no summer all year round in some areas; short frost free period, frequent hail in summer, severe local hail and sufficient light.
