Manchu Tun Manchu Township, belonging to Horqin right-wing Front Banner of Xing'an League of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the northwest of Horqin right-wing Front Banner. History and culture
The origin of place names
In 1634, the Royal Princess shamgaqige married aori butaiji, the fifth son of butaqi, the first king of zasaktu banner (today's Horqin Right Wing Front Banner). The royal family sent 60 Manchu families to live in zasaktu banner with the princess. After the death of the princess, the descendants drove cattle and sheep up the Taoer River and settled in the Wulan Maodu prairie, which was named Manchu village.
