Xinhuresumu, belonging to Wulate Middle Banner of Bayannaoer City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the southeast of Wulate Middle Banner. It borders on dahanmaoming'an United banner of Baotou City in the East, Shihahe town and Delingshan town in the south, Hailiutu town and tonghetai pasture in the west, and bayinulansumu in the north. It covers an area of 2680.98 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, the population of new Huoxu Su Mu registered residence was 5618.

In July 1950, it belongs to Urad rear banner. In February 1959, it belonged to Bayin hatai commune. In March 1962, the new hure commune was established. In September 1981, it belongs to Urad Middle Banner. In September 1984, it was renamed Xinhure Sumu. In December 2005, Bayin hatai Sumu was merged into new hure Sumu. As of June 2020, new hure Sumu has jurisdiction over 11 Gacha and Sumu people's government is stationed in the city.

Xinhure Sumu is located in the northern foot of Yinshan Mountain, the terrain is high in the north and low in the south. The terrain is divided into low mountain area, hills and inter mountain depression. The main mountains are hatai mountain, chasitai mountain and AQI mountain. The altitude is 1200-1600 meters. The highest peak is located in chasitai mountain of Yinshan Mountain, with an altitude of 1700 meters.

The rivers in xinhuresumu belong to the Yellow River system and the inland river system. The main rivers are shiha River and moleng river of the Yellow River system, and the wulijitu River and zhergeleng river of the inland river system, which are all seasonal rivers. The total length of the river is 201 kilometers, the drainage area is 320 square kilometers, and the annual flood discharge is 19.4 million cubic meters.
