Bagatala Sumu

Located in the west of Chifeng City, bagatalasumu is located at the intersection of Inner Mongolia Plateau, southern mountain of Daxinganling and Qilaotu mountain of Yanshan. It is 207 km long from north to South and 170 km wide from east to west, with a total area of 840.4 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 9 towns, 3 Sumu, 8 townships, 2 development zones and 163 Gacha villages. 13304 people (2017), is a region with Mongolian as the main body, Han nationality as the majority, and eight ethnic groups, including Mongolian, Han, Hui, Manchu, Zhuang, Korean, Daur, etc.

Geography

Because of its unique geographical location and natural environment, bagatala is rich in natural resources, which is also an important resource rich area in Chifeng City. There are 27 million mu of natural grassland in the whole banner, of which 22 million mu can be used. There are many varieties of grassland pasture. According to the investigation, there are 79 families, 331 genera and 1008 species. The forage has good quality and rich nutrition. Beef, mutton and dairy products have unique flavor. In the Yuan Dynasty, Keqi beef, mutton and dairy products were royal tribute, enjoying a high reputation. Rich in land resources, the development and utilization of 1.26 million mu of arable land, crops mainly wheat, corn, buckwheat, but also rich in cereals, beans and other economic crops. There are many kinds of animal and plant resources, including Pleurotus ostreatus, Pteridium aquilinum, golden needle, licorice, Astragalus membranaceus, ephedra and other Chinese medicinal materials. The main wild animals are red deer, roe deer, yellow sheep, Qingyang, wild boar, etc. in dalihu National Bird Nature Reserve, there are 16 species of birds under national first and second level protection.

Bagatala Sumu has a long history. Most of the unearthed cultural relics belong to "Hongshan Culture" and "Xiajiadian Culture". The Xia and pre Shang Dynasties were the settlements of the ancestors of the Shang nationality. Donghu, Wuhuan, Xianbei, Qidan, Mongolia, Han and other nationalities lived in this land and multiplied together to create a developed ancient civilization in the north. Bagatalasumu landform is complex and diverse. The terrain is high in the West and low in the East, medium sand and grass in the north. It is located at the junction of Hunshandake and Horqin sandy land, integrating the grassland in the west, lava platform in the South and hilly and mountainous areas in the north. The average altitude is 1100 meters. It has a mid temperate continental monsoon climate, with an average annual temperature of 2-4 ℃, frost free period of 60-150 days and annual rainfall of 250-500mm, mostly concentrated in June, July and August.
