Gangzi Township
Gangzi Township, belonging to Songshan District, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the northwest of Songshan District, adjacent to Shangguandi town in the East, Damiao town and dafuyingzi Township in the south, and yihegong township of Wengniute Banner in the northwest. The area is 466 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, 16930 people registered residence.
In 1968, the Revolutionary Committee of gaigangzi commune. In 1980, the Management Committee of Gangzi commune was restored. In 1984, it was in the suburb of Chifeng City. In 1993, Gangzi commune was transformed into a township, belonging to Songshan District. In December 2005, Gangzi Township and daliufen Township were merged into GangZi township. As of June 2020, 13 administrative villages are under the jurisdiction of rural Gangzi.
By the end of 2018, there were 6 industrial enterprises in Gangzi Township, including 2 Industrial Enterprises above Designated Size and 18 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
Historical evolution
In 1908, Gangzi village was under the jurisdiction of Princess mausoleum in Chifeng Zhili Prefecture.
In the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940), Chifeng county was abolished and Wengniute Banner was established. The township was under its jurisdiction.
In 1945, at the beginning of liberation, it belonged to Chixi County of Rezhong special office in Rehe province.
At the beginning of October 1949, Chixi county was abolished and assigned to Chifeng county official area (six districts).
In 1956, GangZi township was built after the district was withdrawn.
In 1958, belonging to Chifeng City, Gangzi Township commune was established.
In 1959, it was returned to Wengniute Banner.
In 1962, it was returned to Chifeng county.
In 1968, the Revolutionary Committee of gaigangzi commune.
In 1980, the Management Committee of Gangzi commune was restored.

GangZi township is located in Zhaosu River, the terrain is high in the West and low in the East. It is the source of Zhaosu River, and the river trend is Y-shaped. Except for the three mandian villages of Sijia village, jiecaigou village and xinwopu village, the other 10 villages are mainly built on both sides of yanzhaosu River, which is a typical low mountain and hilly landform. The highest point is beidixue mountain, with an altitude of 1650 meters; the lowest point is Dongqiao River Center of Xindi formation in Gangzi village, with an altitude of 980 meters.
