Shengang Street

Shengang street of Lingang development zone is located in the west of Jiangyin City, Jiangsu Province. It is adjacent to Xiagang street in the East, Changzhou City in the south, Ligang town in the West and the Yangtze River in the north. It covers an area of 39 square kilometers.

Shengang governs four communities of Shengang, Jiangnan, Shenpu and Shenxing, and eight administrative villages of Yumen, Binjiang, Chuangxin, Hengtang, Dongliu, Shenxi, Shennan and Shengang. The office is located at 1816 Zhencheng road.

After 1951, it belonged to the towns of Shengang, Chongwen, Binjiang, Jingxian, Hengtang and the west of Yumen township (now known as Yumen). After 1955, they merged into Shengang and Binjiang townships respectively. In June 1956, they merged into Shengang township. In September 1958, it was changed into Shengang commune. In April 1984, it was changed into township. In 1988, it was removed from township to town. In 1996, it covers an area of about 30 square kilometers and has a population of 45000. It has jurisdiction over 20 administrative villages including men, he Xiang Li, pailou Xia, Qian Jia Xiang, Dong Liu Cun, Xu Cun, Shen Gang Kou, Xi Wu, Nan Zhuang, Shen Zhuang, Sheng?, Miao Jia Cun, Zhong Jie, Song Jia Wei, Dai Jun Qiao, Xi Heng Tang, Dong Heng Tang, Dong Jie, Xi Jie, Zhu Jia Wan and one neighborhood committee of Shen Gang town. In January 2006, Lingang Economic Development Zone was established as a "national comprehensive bonded zone". It is adjacent to the main urban area of Jiangyin in the East, Changzhou in the West and the Yangtze River in the north, with an administrative area of 220 square kilometers and jurisdiction over Huangtu, Xiagang street, Shengang street and Ligang street. It has become a new rapid economic growth point of Jiangyin City.

Shengang street is the seat of the government of Lingang Development Zone, the center of Jiangyin City, the Jiangyin campus of Nanjing University of technology, the second people's Hospital of Jiangyin City, and the national comprehensive bonded zone of Jiangyin City.
