Baima town is located at the junction of Henan and Anhui provinces and three cities (Zhoukou, Fuyang and Bozhou), covering an area of 108.95 square kilometers (2017), with 35 administrative villages, 192 natural villages and 44320 people (2017). It is a pilot town of comprehensive reform at provincial and municipal levels and a famous town in Huaihai. Baima Town, also known as "Baima post", is named after the post station set up here in the Tang and Song dynasties. During the Anti Japanese War, Peng Xuefeng, a famous general of the New Fourth Army, led his troops to train here, which was also an old revolutionary base area.
Historical evolution
In ancient times, it was called "white horse post", because the post station was set up here in Tang and Song Dynasties, and the post horses were all white horses. Before 1952, baimayi was under the jurisdiction of Luyi County, Laozi's hometown. Baimayi was an important town of Luyi in the past dynasties. In August 1952, the Government Affairs Council officially approved the establishment of Dancheng County, and baimayi was assigned to Dancheng county. Dongfanghong commune was established in 1958, changed its name to Baima commune in 1965, changed its Township in 1983, and established a town in 1987. In 1997, it covers an area of 107.7 square kilometers and has a population of 86000. It has jurisdiction over Gaozhuang, xiaowanglou, dawanglou, huzhai, dongchengzhuang, Lianzhuang, dongzuozhuang, Zhangli, wanghekou, Liulou, Zhangzhen, dashenzhuang, qianzhangzhai, Zhouli, Dazhou, Qiaokou, Naizhong, zhangfeidian, Luodian, dongchentang, Hanzhuang, laohaozhuang, haolizhuang, Lizhuang, dongluozhuang, Yanzhai, laoyadian, dongzhangzhuang There are 34 Administrative Villages: daolou, datiaozhuang, Wali, Yuge, Qilou and Lihua.
