In 1912, Huating and Lou counties merged into Huating county. In 1914, Songjiang County was changed to Xiuzhu Township, Songjiang County, Jiangsu Province. in 1929, the district system was put on trial, which was divided into Chengxiang District, Tianma district and the third district of Jinshan County, Songjiang County, Jiangsu Province. In 1945, the war of resistance against Japan was won. The area is divided into Chengxiang District, Tiankun district and the Second District of Jinshan County. In 1947, it belonged to Yongtang Town, Hehui Township, Qianhe Township and Maogang township of Jinshan County. In 1949, it belonged to Yonghe Town, Tianma town and Liaobei township of Jinshan County. On May 13, 1949, Songjiang was liberated.
