Scenic Spots and Historical Sites
Guanzhu Temple: according to the stele of Guanzhu temple in Xincun township: "in the Tang Dynasty, the right government of Wude joined the army, and Yuchi Jingde rebuilt Guanzhu temple.". Accordingly, the village was built in the Sui Dynasty, known as Guanzhu temple. At that time, the village was close to the Bank of the Yihe River and was washed by the flood. The river bed moved eastward and moved to the present site to rebuild the village, so it was renamed Xincun. Guanzhu temple was one of the 108 temples in China. The number of gods and Buddhas worshipped in Guanzhu temple is second only to Hanshan Temple in Suzhou. At that time, the temple was magnificent, with evening drums and morning bells, mist, pine and cypress towering, clouds and cranes looming, and pilgrims. According to the local old people, there were nine ancient pines in the temple, named "nine female pines". Now there are only 5 trees left. The trunks are clumsy and strong. Although they have experienced many vicissitudes, they are still handsome. Several ancient steles scattered everywhere record the historical vicissitudes of the ancient temple.
To the north of guanzhusi site, a tall ginkgo tree with luxuriant branches and leaves stands aloof. According to historical records, the tree was planted in the Yongguang period of the Western Han Dynasty (43-39 BC), with a height of 37.6 meters, a diameter at breast height of 2.24 meters and a crown width of 20.1 × 29 meters. The tree is male, and the place name organization is Xincun Baiguoshu. The tree stands towering in the sky and its giant shadow is whirling. It is the highest male ginkgo in China. The lowest branch of the tree was grafted by the monks of Guanzhu temple in those years. Today, it is full of fruit, which makes the viewers marvel.
According to folklore, there used to be no gingko tree here, only the immortal Lu Dongbin had one tree, which only produced eight fruits a year, and each immortal could only get one. One year, the queen mother went to lvdongbin fairy house as a guest, just in the mature season of ginkgo. When the queen mother saw the golden ginkgo fruit, she was very jealous, so she picked two and hid them in her sleeve. Lu Dongbin was very angry when he found out that he sent Zhang Guo to chase him on a donkey. But the queen mother had no choice but to throw the fruit down. It happened that it fell into the Guanzhu temple, and two small ginkgo trees grew up. In a few days, they grew into big trees. They were called "Old God trees" by the local people. In the east of the old Shenshu, there is an ancient pagoda tree. It is said that Yuchi Jingde, a general of the Tang Dynasty, once tied a horse under the old tree. There is a popular story of "jingdelama watching the ancient locust tree".
By the end of 2005, there were 10000 mu of ginkgo leaf picking nursery base, 15000 mu of ginkgo seedling cultivation garden, 600 mu of Ginkgo basin garden and 4400 mu of ginkgo fruit garden in the township, which was the largest ginkgo seedling sales market in Jiangbei. In 2003, the ten thousand mu Ginkgo Garden tourist area was rated as "national AA tourist attraction", and in 2005, it was rated as "national agricultural tourism demonstration site". Xincun township has successfully held three international ginkgo festivals and several ginkgo academic seminars. Ginkgo culture stele forest, Guangfu temple, ginkgo Science Museum and other attractions are under planning and construction.
