Baoheshao town
Baoheshao town is a town under the jurisdiction of new urban district of Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region; "baoheshao" is a homonym of Mongolian "baoerhushu", which means purple mountain mouth. Baoheshao town is located in the mid mountain area and part of the piedmont alluvial fan plain of Daqingshan line. It is adjacent to Yulin town of Saihan District in the East, Bayan town of Saihan District in the south, Genghis Khan street in the west, Wuchuan County in the northwest and Zhuozi County of Ulanqab city in the North. As of June 2020, baoheshao town has jurisdiction over 11 administrative villages. The total area is 479.94 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, the total number of registered residence households was 18762.
During the period of the Republic of China, the jurisdiction still followed the old system of the Qing Dynasty. Baoheshao is not only the first left-wing administrative district of tumed banner, but also the Second District of Guisui county (the district office is located in today's Baita Village). In 1937, the current area was renamed Zhenxiang by the Japanese puppet government. From 1945 to 1948, the CPC Guisui County Committee established county governments in chaodai, Baita and taobuqi, and set up two districts in baoheshao and luojiaying. In 1954, Guisui county was abolished, and the current jurisdiction was under the jurisdiction of the third district of Tumet banner (yulinzi District), and baoheshao township was established. In 1956, Baohe Shaoxiang was assigned to the suburb of Hohhot. In 1958, Baohe Shaoxiang was transformed into a satellite commune. In 1984, baoheshao commune was changed into baoheshao township. In 2005, baoheshao township was removed from the township and built into a town.
In 2018, baoheshao town has 12 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
Historical evolution
During the period of the Republic of China, the jurisdiction still followed the old system of the Qing Dynasty. Baoheshao is not only the first left-wing administrative district of tumed banner, but also the Second District of Guisui county (the district office is located in today's Baita Village).
In 1937, the current jurisdiction was renamed Zhenxiang by the Japanese puppet government, belonging to the Second District of Bayan County (Guisui county) (now Baita District Office).
From 1945 to 1948, the CPC Guisui County Committee set up county governments in chaodai, Baita and taobuqi. Baoheshao and luojiaying were divided into two districts. The Mongolian nationality in the current area was still under the jurisdiction of tumed banner, the Han nationality was under the jurisdiction of Guomindang Guisui County, and the CPC Guisui County Committee also carried out revolutionary activities here.
In 1950, the current jurisdiction is the first district of tumed banner (the district office is located in Xiaochang Yuanlun) and the first district of Guisui county (the district office is located in luojiaying).
In 1953, villages were transformed into townships, and most of the villages under the jurisdiction now belong to the first district of Tumet banner, namely, Moban Township and the third district of Guisui county (the district office is located in Yulin).
In 1954, Guisui county was abolished, and the current jurisdiction was under the jurisdiction of the third district of Tumet banner (yulinzi District), and baoheshao township was established.
In 1956, Baohe Shaoxiang was assigned to the suburb of Hohhot.
In 1958, Baohe Shaoxiang was changed into a satellite commune, later renamed Baohe Shao commune, with 23 agricultural cooperatives under its jurisdiction.
In 1960, Xiaojing commune was merged into baoheshao commune.
In 1961, Xiaojing commune was separated from Baohe Shao commune.
In 1984, baoheshao commune was changed into baoheshao Township, which governs 10 administrative villages and 30 natural villages.
In 2001, Shaxiao Xiaojing Township, except for the administrative villages of chaosihao, Yushugou and yaojiawan, the remaining 9 administrative villages were assigned to baoheshao Township, with a total of 21 administrative villages and 74 natural villages. In 2003, baoheshao township was adjusted to 11 administrative villages.
In 2005, baoheshao township was removed from the township and built into a town.

Baoheshao town is located in the mid mountain area and part of the piedmont alluvial fan plain of Daqingshan line. It is adjacent to Yulin town of Saihan District in the East, Bayan town of Saihan District in the south, Genghis Khan street in the west, Wuchuan County in the northwest and Zhuozi County of Ulanqab city in the North. It is 28 kilometers away from the city. The maximum distance between East and West is 24 km, and the maximum distance between North and south is 42 km. The total area is 479.94 square kilometers.

Baoheshao town is located in the mountain plain intersection area of the southern foot of Daqingshan Mountain in the middle of Inner Mongolia, with the terrain higher in the northeast and lower in the southwest. The terrain can be roughly divided into three zones: Yinshan Mountain zone and hilly zone in the northeast, and alluvial fan plain in the southwest. The main peaks in the territory are Yaomu mountain, Pingding Mountain, Panlong mountain, monkey mountain, Yudai mountain, jinluandian mountain, Hutou mountain, Panyang mountain, Daliang Mountain, Luotuo mountain, panjiabei mountain, Nantianmen shengshuiliang mountain, etc. The main gullies are: Xiaojinggou, kuisu gully, lamayuantu gully, mianpuyao gully, Jietai gully, etc. The mountainous and hilly area is 365.26 square kilometers, and the plain area is 142.04 square kilometers.
