Longshan Town

Longshan Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Fogang County, Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province, is located in the south of Fogang County. It is the South Gate of Fogang County, with a total area of 160.47 square kilometers. In 2018, the registered residence population of Longshan Town was about 51 thousand and 300, with an external population of about 10 thousand. In 2020, Longshan Town governs one community and 14 administrative villages.

Longshan Town has 106 National Highway, qingfo first-class highway and 354 provincial highway running through the whole territory. It is 5 kilometers away from Tangtang exit of Beijing Zhuhai Expressway, 50 kilometers away from New Baiyun International Airport, 45 kilometers away from Guangzhou North 2nd Ring Road and 20 kilometers away from Qingyuan station of Beijing Guangzhou railway. It has been integrated into Guangzhou "one hour economic circle". Shujiang chicken, Wuzong goose, Shujiang radish and shage were selected as the famous specialties in Fogang County.

The development pattern of characteristic agriculture in Longshan Town has been initially formed, and the planting of high-quality fruits such as litchi, longan and pitaya has developed to a base; an industrial system has been formed with air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment, electric locomotive manufacturing, toys, metal casting, electronics, auto parts and other industries as the pillar and leading industries. Historical evolution

In 1956, it was called Longshan district.

In 1957, the village was changed.

In 1958, it was renamed Jianjiang commune.

In 1959, it was renamed Longshan commune.

In 1983, it was re divided into districts.

In 1987, the town was built.

In 2020, Longshan Town governs 1 community and 14 administrative villages: Longshan community, Guanqian village, Huanglong village, Fuliang village, menloufu village, Chebu village, banzhen village, guanluzhou village, Hetian village, baishatang village, liangtang village, conghuawei village, xiayue village, Shangyue village and qingshuijing village. There are 145 natural villages, 293 villager groups and 23 resident groups in the town.

Black maned goose

Qingyuan black mane goose, also known as black mane goose, is a small goose species produced in Qingyuan. It is called Qingyuan black mane goose because its neck to back mane has an obvious black feather band. Qingyuan Wuzong goose has been widely raised by Qingyuan people since the Song Dynasty, and its breed has been formed for more than 800 years. It is mainly distributed on both sides of Beijiang River. Farmers in Qingcheng District, Qingxin county and southern Fogang have the habit of raising it. Qingyuan Wuzong goose has become one of the four famous goose breeds in Guangdong Province. However, after the 1980s, the pure breed of black mane goose was not welcomed and raised by the majority of farmers because of its small size and low economic benefits. The adult male goose weighs about 3.4 kg, the female goose 2.8-3.2 kg, and the meat goose weighs about 2.5 kg at the age of 70 days. Compared with hybrid geese, because of their small size, light weight and great difference in value, the price of a purebred adult black mane geese is only half of that of hybrid geese. One sided pursuit of individual weight gain led to the extinction of Wuzong goose.

Big grass carp in Shujiang River

Grass carp, namely grass carp, is one of the four major fish. Longshan area is located in the middle and lower reaches of the Shujiang river. The water area is vast and the water quality is excellent. The water area is sandy bottom, so its wild grass carp has delicious taste, crisp meat, no pollution and no mud taste. Grass carp is low-fat and less hot. It can be eaten for a long time but not fat. Eating more does not increase cholesterol. It is not warm and cold. It can be eaten frequently. Grass carp can be eaten in various ways. For example, Shunde sashimi can be eaten raw. In Sichuan cuisine, grass carp is used to cook fish in water. Fogang is more characteristic. The top ten are steamed or soaked. About three kilograms of grass carp are selected, cleaned, dried with cloth, coated with some salt and steamed in a pot. Ginger, scallion and secret soy sauce are mixed with local peanut oil before serving.
