Yongfeng Town, subordinate to Urumqi county, Urumqi City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the north of Urumqi county. It is bounded by Urumqi River in the East and connected with Banfanggou Township, sardaban Township in the south, Gangou Township in the West and Xishan sub district office of shayibak District in the north. The total area is 73 square kilometers, and the cultivated area is 69000 mu. As of 2016, the total population is 12894.
Yongfeng town is named after the Yongfeng canal built in Qing Dynasty. In 1950, it was subordinate to five districts of Dihua county (Hexi District). In 1956, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged into Yongfeng Township. In September 1958, Dongfeng commune was established. In May 1961, it was renamed Yongfeng commune. In December 2016, Yongfeng town was established. In October 2019, Yongfeng town governs six administrative villages and one community.
