Anshan township is subordinate to Xinning County, Hunan Province. It is located in the northwest border of Xinning County, Hunan Province, bordering Wugang City. It is 37 kilometers away from the county seat, with a land area of 105 square kilometers (2017) and a total population of 23820 (2017).

In 1984, it was changed into township. In May 1995, it was withdrawn from the district and merged with the former Wentang township. It was called Anshan township.
