Dayong town is subordinate to Liuzhi special zone of Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province. It is located in the east of Liuzhi special zone, with Mugang town in the East, Luobie Buyi and Yi Township in the south, Pingzhai town in the West and Huachu town in Puding County of Anshun City in the north. It is 7.5km away from the government of the special zone, with a total administrative area of 69.47km2.
In 1931, Dayong town belonged to the Fourth District of Puding County; in September 1991, Dayong township was set up as a town. In 2019, Dayong town governs one community and seven administrative villages, and the town people's government is stationed in Dayong village.
In 2018, there were 13 industrial enterprises in Dayong Town, including 3 above scale enterprises and 12 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters. In July 2020, it was named as the National Health township of 2017-2019 cycle by the National Patriotic Health Campaign Committee.
