Platform town

Platform town is under the jurisdiction of Yunfu City, Guangdong Province. It is located in the east of tongwodashan, a branch of Yunkai mountains. It is adjacent to Dapo town of Cangwu County in the west, Pingfeng town of Fengkai County in the north, Dusheng town of Yunnan county in the East, Guiwei town in the South and state-owned Tongle forest farm in the southwest.

The total area of the town is 131.6 square kilometers. Platform town governs 13 villages and 1 community with a total population of 24798 (2017). Platform town is a traditional agricultural town in Yunfu City, which is one of the main production bases of Shatangju and seedless wampee. In 2012, the town completed 219 million yuan of fixed asset investment, an increase of 48.6% over last year, and achieved 183 million yuan of GDP, an increase of 30.69% over last year.

Historical evolution

It was established in the Yuan Dynasty (1341-1368) and belongs to Duanxi county (today's Deqing).

From 1577 to 1913, it belongs to Xining county (now Yunan).

In 1946, it was renamed tongdongxiang.

After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was initially named platform administrative village, which was under the jurisdiction of the first district.

In 1953, it was renamed platform township.

In 1958, it was an administrative area of the red flag people's commune.

In 1961, it was separated from the red flag people's Commune and established the platform people's commune to determine the current jurisdiction.

In 1983, the people's commune was abolished and renamed platform area.

In January 1987, it was changed to platform town.

The central area of Taiping town is located at 111 ° 15 ′ E and 23 ° 15 ′ n. There are many plains, terraces and platforms in the valley of platform Town, with thick soil layer and sufficient water source. It is located in the low mountain and hilly area, with mountains and hills alternating with small plains. The elevation of peaks is mostly between 100-200 meters. The highest mountain in the territory is tongwok mountain on the southwest edge, with an altitude of 753 meters.

Since 2012, Yinghao real estate has successfully introduced 4 new projects, with a total investment of 80 million yuan. Part of the infrastructure construction of the project has been completed, with a total investment of 45 million yuan, accounting for 56% of the project construction progress. Agriculture

Platform town is a traditional agricultural town in Yunfu City, known as "granary of Yunan". The main crops are rice, sweet potato, peanut, beans, cinnamon, cassava and other agricultural and forestry crops. The town is one of the main production bases of Shatangju and seedless wampee in Yunan County.

As of 2008, the total planting area of Shatangju reached 100000 mu, accounting for 35% of the total planting area of the county. More than 95% of the farmers in 14 villages planted Shatangju, with a per capita planting area of nearly 4 mu. In 2008, the production area of Shatangju was 70000 mu, and the output reached 90000 tons. The income of planting Shatangju accounts for more than 60% of the per capita net income of farmers in the town.
