Xikou Township was established in 1956, changed to commune in 1961, renamed Qingshi commune in 1981, and changed to township in 1983. Gedi township was built in 1950, some administrative villages of Jiulongshan Township were merged in 1956, commune was changed in 1961, and township was changed in 1983. In 1996, it covers an area of 20 square kilometers and has a population of 15000. It has 12 administrative villages, including Ge, Shangge, shanxibian, Hubian, Hutou, Hongqiao, chenjiadun, miaoshantou, Shantou, Tangbian, Xinzhan, Jiangjia, and the township government is located at Gedi, 9 kilometers away from the county.

Geography
Qingshi town is located in the eastern suburb of Changshan County and the source of Qiantang River. In 1997, Qingshi town was removed from the township to build a town. Climatic characteristics
Qingshi town has the characteristics of sufficient light, humid climate, changeable spring temperature, waterlogging in early summer, drought in autumn, long growth period and short cold period.
