Dapo town
Dapo Town, subordinate to Qiongshan District, Haikou City, Hainan Province, is located in the south of Qiongshan District, adjacent to Tanniu town of Wenchang City in the East, Penglai town of Wenchang City in the south, Jiazi town in the West and Sanmenpo town in the north. The administrative area of the town is 130.64 square kilometers.
In April 1959, Dapo commune was established, and the commune was located in old ruins of Dapo. In September 1983, it was changed into Dapo district office. In the same year, it was planned to build Dapo new market, where the district office is located. In March 1987, it was changed into Dapo town. On October 16, 2002, Qiongshan city was abolished and Qiongshan District of Haikou City was established. Dapo town was under the jurisdiction of Qiongshan district. By the end of 2018, the population of 27199 households in Tai Po town registered residence. As of June 2020, Dapo town has jurisdiction over one community, five administrative villages and two village level units. The town people's government is located at No. 3, Hengxi street, dapoxui.
In 2011, the total financial revenue of Dapo town was 11400 yuan, an increase of 12% over the previous year. In 2016, the per capita net income of farmers in Dapo town reached 11656 yuan, an increase of 10.5% over last year. Historical evolution
In the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, it was subordinate to kaiwentu in Qiongshan county.
In 1933, it was subordinate to the eighth and ninth districts of Qiongshan county;
In 1947, it was subordinate to Shude Township, the fourth district and Sanying Township, the Fifth District.
In 1951, it belonged to the Second District of Qiongshan county.
In June 1957, the people's Committee of Dapo township was established.
In September 1958, it was subordinate to Dongfeng commune; in December of the same year, Dongfeng commune was renamed as Sanmenpo commune.
In April 1959, Dapo commune was established, and the commune was located in old ruins of Dapo.
In September 1983, it was changed into Dapo district office. In the same year, it was planned to build Dapo new market, where the district office is located.
In October 1986, Shude township was re established under the jurisdiction of Dapo district.
In March 1987, it was changed into Dapo Town, under the jurisdiction of Qiongshan county.
In January 1994, Qiongshan county was set up as a city under the jurisdiction of Qiongshan city.
On October 16, 2002, Qiongshan city was abolished and Qiongshan District of Haikou City was established. Dapo town was under the jurisdiction of Qiongshan district.
