In September 1958, Dongfanghong commune was established. At the end of the year, Chengguan commune was established. In February 1980, it was changed into Chengguan town. In December 1985, Chengguan town was abolished and Chengwu town was established. In May 2010, Chengwu town was abolished and Yongchang street was established. In June 2020, Yongchang Street governs 5 communities and 24 administrative villages.
