The origin of place names
There is a waterfall in the north of Guanshan village in this town, which is called Longtan River. The stream runs through the hinterland and is called Longtan River, so it is called Longtan town.

Hakka tea
The custom of drinking Leicha is popular in JieXi and Puning Hakka areas. In the early years of the Northern Song Dynasty, pan Renmei was ordered to attack the Southern Han Dynasty and sent a small team to attack Guangzhou through JieXi. When they arrived in hEPO, the soldiers were not satisfied with the situation and vomited. Later, they were instructed by the local people to drink Leicha to treat the disease. The soldiers who fell ill drank a big bowl of tea and recovered the next day. Later, a part of the people from the southern part of the expedition left to settle down in the fields. Therefore, Leicha was handed down not only in JieXi, but also in northern Guangdong, Western Hunan, southern Jiangxi and other places where Hakka people lived together, and became a major feature of Hakka food customs.
JieXi Micheng
Micheng, also known as "Mi Hua Cui", is a classic tea material popular in JieXi Hakka area. Micheng, in JieXi Hakka area, is a traditional food as famous as Leicha. According to the records of Jiexi County annals, Micheng is a local specialty food popular in Hakka areas such as hEPO, Longtan, Pingshang, Wuyun, Shangsha, Liangtian, etc. it can be used as refreshment tea or as a gift. In the era of material poverty, a bowl of Leicha and a piece of rice are the highest standards of hospitality in JieXi Hakka area.
Famous people
Cai YingYuan
In 1904, he was born in jingxialou Village (now Longtan Town, Jiexi County). General of the Kuomintang government. He graduated from Huangpu Military Academy in 1925 and took part in two expeditions. He took part in the famous song Lu campaign, made great contributions and was promoted to captain. During the Anti Japanese War, Cai YingYuan later served as commander in chief of the Luohe garrison headquarters, commander in chief of the general staff of the 37th group army, and participated in the Taierzhuang campaign and the Wuhan battle. He died in Taipei in the autumn of 2004 at the age of 102.
