Heping Town is subordinate to Da'an District of Zigong City, located in the eastern suburb of Zigong City, under the jurisdiction of Da'an District of Zigong City, adjacent to Xianshi town of Yantan District in the East, surrounded by Fuxi River in the south, connected with the Central Development Zone in the West and Zigong railway station in the North, with an administrative area of 11.33 square kilometers and a total population of 12885 (2017).

Evolution of administrative districts

It originally belonged to tonglong town of Fushun County. In 1939, Zigong was established as a city under the jurisdiction of the first district of Zigong. In 1951, two townships, Heping and Xinmin, were established under the jurisdiction of Ziliujing district. In 1953, it was merged into Heping Township, under the jurisdiction of the suburbs. In 1959, it merged with Aiguo Township and was called Aihe commune. In 1960, it was divided into two groups, still known as the peace commune. In 1961, it was divided into Ziliujing district.
