In the late Qing Dynasty, Huxi Street belonged to four townships; in December 1986, Huxi street was separated from Hongqi Street. In 2011, Huxi street had a total population of 128000. As of June 2020, Huxi street has 7 communities under its jurisdiction, and the sub district office is located at 855 evolution street, Ji'an Road community.

In the late Qing Dynasty, it belonged to four townships.

In 1913, it belonged to five districts and fourteen townships. In April of 1933, it belonged to Shengjing and South Changchun of Shuntian district. In November 1946, it was a joint insurance system for the general public and Chunjiao.
