Sanchakou township is located in the northwest of Baodi County in Tianjin, bordering huogezhuang Township in the East, gaojiazhuang Township in the south, niudaokou Township in the West and Jixian County across the river in the north. The total area is 19 square kilometers. The township has 10 villages, which is one of the least villages in Baodi County.

Sanchakou, for example, was built in the song and Liao dynasties (about the 10th-11th century A.D.). At that time, the Weihe River in the north of Sanchakou confluenced with the Zhouhe River and then ran into Jihe river. At the same time, the Yunliang river was excavated at the south end of Sanchakou to lead to today's Tianjin. Sanchakou was named Sanchakou because it was located at the confluence of Sanchakou, Yunliang River and Zhouhe river.
