Dawning town
Shuguang Township, located in the South Road of Santai County, Sichuan Province, is 28 kilometers away from the county seat, covering an area of 20.07 square kilometers. It governs 8 administrative villages, 1 town community residents committee, 86 villager groups, with a total population of 7006 (2017).
On December 26, 2019, with the approval of Sichuan Provincial People's government, Santai County abolished Shuguang Township and put its administrative area under the jurisdiction of Xinsheng Town, whose people's government is located at No. 2 old street.
General situation
The forest area of the township is 538 hectares, and the forest coverage rate is 39%. The Laojun river is the longest, with a total length of 8 km. Laojun temple has a long history and is its main tourist attraction. Shuguang township is a model township for the comprehensive management of social security at the county level. It is one of the nine major sericulture base towns in the county. There are three civilized units at the county level, including township government agencies. It is a typical agricultural township. Shuguang township is located in 30 ° 51 ′ 56 ″ - 30 ° 55 ′ 10 ″ north latitude and 105 ° 05 ′ 41 ″ - 105 ° 08 ′ 30 ″ east longitude. It is adjacent to Jingfu town in the East and south, Guanqiao town in the west, Xinsheng town in the north and Lejia Township in the northeast, 32 km away from the county seat. The administrative area is 20.07 square kilometers.
Evolution of organizational system
At the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, Santai County set up No. 4 road and 28 townships, and Shuguang was under the jurisdiction of Weihuo Township, South Road (in Xindianzi, now Xinsheng town).
In 1920, Dawning Xingchang was named laojunchang because there was a laojundong in the residence.
In 1940, the "new county system" was carried out, and the joint insurance system was changed into township. Dawning is from Guanqiao, Jingfu and Lejia to Jiefang.
In 1951, the land reform was completed, the democratic construction of government was carried out, the Laojun township was built, and the Laojun farm was stationed.
In 1956, Lao Jun was abolished and merged into Wentai Township, which was restored at the end of the year.
