Xinlin town
Xinlin town is under the jurisdiction of Ebian Yi Autonomous County. Located in the south of the county, 13 kilometers away from the county government. Altitude: 855m. The town covers an area of 217.86 square kilometers and has a population of 12678 (2017).
The town has 11 village committees including Jinxing, Huangni, Maliu, Jiangwan, Jiulong, Hongchun, Daxiang, nanmu, Qimu, Shuijing and Gualu. Township enterprises have wood processing, fresh bamboo processing, power plants. Agriculture mainly produces corn, rice, soybean and wheat. Breeding industry to pigs, cattle, sheep, poultry based. The economic crops include peanut, sesame, cocoon, tea, etc., the precious Chinese medicinal materials include Gastrodia elata and Coptis chinensis, and the local specialty is spring bamboo shoots.
In September 2018, Xinlin town was selected into the demonstration construction list of strong agricultural towns.
On May 18, 2020, the people's Government of Sichuan Province approved Leshan City to adjust the administrative divisions of some villages and towns in Ebian Yi Autonomous County and Mabian Yi Autonomous County (cfzm [2020] No. 3): Baiyang township was abolished and its administrative area was put under the jurisdiction of Xinlin town. The people's Government of Xinlin town was stationed at No. 54 kuzhuba street, Jinxing village.

Xinlin town is located in the southeast of Ebian County, with an area of 217.86 square kilometers and an altitude of 855 meters. It is a mixed town of Yi and Han people. It is connected with shaping town in the East, Dabao town in the West and Mabian County in the south, about 12 kilometers away from Ebian County. there are 11 administrative villages, 1 temporary escrow point (including 4 pure Yi villages and 1 pure Yi point), 87 villager groups, with a total population of 12678 (2017). There are 11172 mu of cultivated land, including 2370 mu of paddy field and 8729 mu of farmland. There are 280000 mu of forest land, 34000 mu of collective forest and 4768 hectares (71600 mu) of natural forest protection responsibility area. 5 ha (42576 mu), 1200 mu of public welfare forest, 9824 mu of returning farmland to forest, 6464 mu of supporting area and 6000 mu of barren hills.
Historical evolution
In 1951, Lianhe township was established. In 1956, it was renamed Xinlin township. In 1957, Yongsheng township was incorporated. In 1958, it was changed into a commune. In 1984, it was restored to township. In 1992, it was established as a town.

Industrial economy
Xinlin town used to rely on "logging". Since the implementation of the national natural forest protection project in 1998, farmers' income has decreased sharply. In order to solve the problem of low grain yield and low income of farmers, the town Party committee and government decided to take science and technology as the driving force to adjust the industrial structure to increase farmers' income. At that time, the town agricultural technology station headed by GE Zongwen felt a great responsibility. They first set out to set up an agricultural technology service network, dividing the 11 villages in the town into three pieces, and building an agricultural technology service point for each piece. There are 68 agricultural technicians and 250 demonstration households in the town to help the masses solve the problems in agricultural production. A three-level service network of agricultural technology station with spots, spots with rural demonstration households and demonstration households with farmers has been formed in the whole town, which has laid a solid foundation for the promotion and popularization of improved varieties and laws. In 2001, the promotion of new agricultural technology alone increased the per capita income of farmers in the town by 52 yuan, accounting for 39% of the annual income increase. The town is rich in water and mineral resources. As of 2016, there are 12 cascade hydropower stations, 2 copper washing plants and 4 mines. The forest coverage rate reached 77.3%.
