Jinshan Town
Jinshan Town is the east gate of Wutongqiao District, 7.5km away from Wutongqiao city and 20km away from Leshan Giant Buddha, the world natural and cultural heritage. Altitude: 368m. It borders Jingyan County in the East, Qianwei County in the south, Huishan town and Yangliu town in Wutongqiao District in the west, niuhua town and Xinyun Township in the north. The beautiful mangxi river runs through the territory, and national highway 213 passes through the town.
Jinshan Town is located in shallow hills, covering an area of 47.25 square kilometers. The town has 18 villages, 1 community, 141 villager groups and 23 community residents groups, with a total population of 23770 (2017).
On December 13, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved Leshan City to adjust the administrative divisions of 8 counties (cities, districts) including Shizhong District (cfzm [2019] No. 20): Huishan town was abolished and its administrative region was put under the jurisdiction of Jinshan Town, and Jinshan Town renzm government was stationed at No. 689, production street.
Historical evolution
Jinshan has a long history. It is named after Jinshan Temple. It has been more than 1000 years ago. First, the nearby hills are bare and the autumn grass is as yellow as gold. Second, the cinder produced by salt industry is as red as gold. In the Song Dynasty, Jinshan had a 13 storey tower, which could go up inside. There was a temple in front of the tower and a well under it. When the tower was demolished in 1958, a piece of gold brick was found under the tower. It was Dalao County in the early Sui Dynasty, Yingling County in the Tang Dynasty, Qingliu Township and Jinshan Township in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty. Jinshan Town and Jinshan Township were established in 1962, township system was abolished in 1987, Jinshan Township was merged into Jinshan Town, township was withdrawn in 1992, Yanlin Township and Jinyan Township were merged into Jinshan Town, becoming an important agricultural products distribution center in WUTONGQIAO district.

In 2002, through investment promotion, Changyi food company invested 40 million yuan to build a new breeding base with an area of 223 Mu and an annual output of 100000 standardized lean pigs, which promoted the development of dly high-quality commercial pigs in the town.
