Shuanghe town

Shuanghe town is located in the south of Changning County, Yibin City, Sichuan Province. It is connected with Meidong town in the southeast, Gong county in the west, Zhoujia town in Xingwen County in the South and Longtou town in the north. The town government is located in Shuanghe market town, 34 kilometers away from Changning County. The town covers an area of 135.37 square kilometers, with 21 villages, 1 community, 98 agricultural cooperatives and a total population of 18955 (2017).

On August 24, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved the adjustment of some township administrative divisions in Yibin City: Fuxing township was cancelled and its administrative region was put under the jurisdiction of Shuanghe Town, and Shuanghe Town People's government was stationed at No. 40 Xiangyang Road.

General situation of villages and towns

Shuanghe, a thousand year old town, is located in the southern edge of Sichuan Basin, inlaid in the junction of Changning, Gongxian and Xingwen counties. It is named Shuanghe because of the East and West streams surrounding the town. Covering an area of 135.37 square kilometers, it governs one neighborhood committee and 12 administrative villages, 65 villager groups, with a total population of 18955 (2017). The area of cultivated land is 9830 mu, including 5160 mu of farmland and 4670 mu of soil. There are three mountains, two troughs and one dam in the township, with the highest altitude of 953.4 meters and the lowest altitude of 367 meters. The landform is a combination of deep and shallow hills. It is thick muddy rock with thin sandstone, and the soil is mostly neutral and alkaline. The climate is mild with abundant rainfall. The average temperature is 18 ℃, the average annual rainfall is 1200 mm, and the frost free period is 350 days. The forest coverage rate is 37.2%.

History of county government

In the early Tang Dynasty, Jimi, Changning Prefecture and Jizhou prefecture were set up in the county, which were subordinate to the governor's office of Luzhou. In the Song Dynasty, Changning army was set up, and in the Yuan Dynasty, the army was changed into a state, which was subordinate to Xuzhou road. In 1372, Changning County was set up and governed in Shuanghe town. Changning County is famous for "living in the farthest place in southern Sichuan, and being able to have a long-term peace in every event". In the seventh year of Hongwu Period, Anning was abandoned and entered Changning, which was led by Xuzhou capital. Since then, it has been subordinate to xiachuannandao, Yongning Road, the sixth administrative supervision district of Sichuan Province, Yibin special district and Yibin area. The town of Shuangning has been moved since March 1950.
