Jichang town

Jichang Town, belonging to Panshi City, Jilin Province, is located in the northwest of Panshi City, bordering Mingcheng town in the East, Chaoyang mountain town in the south, Heyuan town in Yitong Manchu Autonomous County of Siping City in the west, tudingzi town in Shuangyang District of Changchun City in the north and Yantongshan town in the northeast, 45 kilometers away from Panshi City. The area is 359.33 square kilometers.

In 1870, Jichang town was named jichangzitun; in November 1984, it was changed from Jichang township to Jichang town. History of construction

In 1914, it belonged to six police districts. In 1938, Jichang village was established. In January 1949, it belonged to 11 districts (Jichang District).

In September 1958, Jichang commune was established.

In May 1962, Jichang commune separated into Dawang commune and changweizi commune.

In December 1983, it was changed from Jichang commune to Jichang township.

In November 1984, it was changed from Jichang township to Jichang town.

In August 2001, Dawang and changweizi townships were merged into Jichang town.
