Donghu township is subordinate to Jingyang District of Deyang City, adjacent to Shuangdong town and Xinzhong town in the East, Hexin town and bajiaojing town in the southeast, Deyang economic and Technological Development Zone and Sichuan Cultural and entertainment city in the southwest, Jinghu town in the West and Huangxu town in the north. The township covers an area of 30.87 square kilometers, with a total population of 13845 (2017).

Donghu township is located in the north of Chengdu Plain, in the southeast of Deyang City. The terrain of the township is high in the northeast and low in the southwest, with hills in the East and plains in the West.
