Shuitou Town is subordinate to Pingyang County, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province. It is located in the southeast coast of Zhejiang Province, in the middle and upper reaches of the Aojiang River Basin, adjacent to the national scenic spot nanyandang mountain, 90 kilometers away from Wenzhou City and 30 kilometers away from Aojiang port. The maximum distance from east to west is 14.6 km, the maximum distance from north to south is 12.3 km, 96.5 square kilometers (2017). The resident population was 133123 (2017). It has jurisdiction over 10 communities and 68 administrative villages.

In October 2019, Shuitou Town was selected as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019".
Historical evolution
The original name of Shuitou is Jingkou. Located at the mouth of Jingchuan (today's Jinxi) flowing into Hengyang River (today's Aojiang), it was named after Song Dynasty. In the Song Dynasty, therefore, there was a fir bridge in ancient times, which was once known as shanqiaoli. After the local Zhu built three stone bridges, also known as sanqiaoli (now belongs to Sanqiao village, Shuitou Town). According to statistics, in the Southern Song Dynasty, the Zhu family in sanqiaoli produced three top martial arts scholars, eight liberal arts scholars and eleven martial arts scholars. Sanqiaoli is also famous as the number one scholar village.
It is said that at the end of the Yuan Dynasty, after Zhou Chengde captured Pingyang City, he changed "Jingkou" to "Shuitou" and "Jingshui" to "Aojiang". In April 2011, with the approval of the provincial government, Fengwo, Hexi, naocun, Nanhu and Chaoyang were abolished and merged into Shuitou Town.
