Jiacun town
Jiacun Town, Xiazhen, Wangdu County, Baoding City, Hebei Province, is located in the south of Wangdu County, 26 kilometers away from the county. It borders on Chengdong township of Boye County in the East, xifuluo township of Anguo City in the south, Daxinzhuang town of Dingzhou City in the West and zhonghanzhuang Township in the North. The largest distance is 5.9 km, the largest 8.3 km from north and south, the total area is 40.16 square kilometers, and the total registered residence population is 31172 (2018).
Jiacun town is named after Beijia village where the town government is located. In January 1984, Jiacun township was established. In June 2013, the township was replaced by Jia village. As of June 2020, Jiacun town has jurisdiction over 13 administrative villages, and the Township People's government is located in Beijia village. Jiacun is the planting site of Wangdu pepper, a national geographical indication product in China.
In 2013, the total agricultural output value of Jiacun town was 1.25 billion yuan, the per capita net income of farmers was 7800 yuan, and the industrial output value was 290 million yuan. In 2018, Jiacun town has 10 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
Historical evolution
Jiacun town is named after Beijia village where the town government is located.
In June 1953, Jiacun township was established.
In June 1958, Wangdu county was abolished and Jiacun township was incorporated into Anguo county.
In 1958, it was transformed into a people's commune.
In January 1962, the organizational system of Wangdu county was restored, and the people's commune of Jia village was transferred to Wangdu county.
In January 1984, it was changed to Jiacun township.
In June 2013, the township was replaced by Jia village.

Wangdu pepper
Wangdu pepper, Wangdu County specialty, China's National Geographic Indication Products, Jiacun town for planting. Wangdu pepper looks like sheep's horn. It is dark red in color, thick in flesh, rich in oil, moderate in spicy degree and rich in fragrance. It contains vitamin B, C, protein, carotene, iron, phosphorus, calcium, sugar and other nutrients.
Wangdu pepper has been planted for nearly 600 years. During the Hongwu Period of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1398), Zhu Di, the fourth Prince of the Ming Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang, led his troops to the north, bringing not only family members, livestock and production tools, but also pepper seeds. From then on, pepper settled in Wangdu.
