The temple town, located in Shuangluan District, Chengde, Hebei, is located in the northern part of Shuangluan District, adjacent to the high temple town of Chengde County, adjacent to the Twin Towers Town, the West and the Xiaoying Township in Luanping County, and the north area connecting the Han Ma Ying Town to Longhua County, with a total area of 94.36 square kilometers. Up to 2018, the registered residence population was 12874.

In 1945, it belonged to three districts of Luanping county. In 1949, it belonged to six districts of Chengde city. In 1961, the township was withdrawn and the Damiao commune was built. In 1984, the commune was abolished and Damiao township was built. In 1987, the township was withdrawn and Damiao town was built. As of June 2020, Damiao town has jurisdiction over 2 communities and 10 administrative villages.
