Wangjiawan Township, belonging to Xuanhua District, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, is located in the south of Xuanhua District, adjacent to Zhuolu County in the East, beishuiquan Township in Yu County in the south, huashaoying town in Yangyuan County in the west, Shenjing town in the north, 42 kilometers away from Xuanhua District People's Government, with a total area of 233.74 square kilometers.
In 1949, Wangjiawan township was a district of Xuanhua county. In 1984, it was changed from Wangjiawan commune to Wangjiawan township. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in Wangjiawan was 6968. As of June 2020, Wangjiawan village has 32 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the Township People's government is located in Wangjiawan village.
The main food crops in Wangjiawan township are corn, millet, potato and minor cereals; the main animal husbandry is raising pigs, sheep, cows, rabbits and poultry. In 2018, Wangjiawan township has 8 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
In 1949, it belonged to Xuanhua county.
In 1953, it was divided into four townships: Wangjiawan, Hujia, Dongping and Shijiagou.
In 1956, the four townships of Wangjiawan, Hujia, Dongping and Shijiagou were merged into two townships of Wangjiawan and Dongping.
In 1958, Wangjiawan and Dongping merged with nanliushui and fujiabao to form Wangjiawan commune.
In 1961, it was divided into four communes: Wangjiawan, Dongping, nanliushui and fujiabao.
In 1966, Dongping commune and Wangjiawan commune merged and became Wangjiawan commune.
In 1984, it was changed from Wangjiawan commune to Wangjiawan township.
In 2016, Xuanhua county was included in Xuanhua district.
