History and culture
Original name
Bailong township is named Bailong Township because it is formed by merging two townships, Baibao Township and Longmen township.
The origin of Longmen
There are two "Longmen" in Longmen gorge. One is a natural arched stone bridge, and the other is an artificial stone arch bridge.
It is said that the middle part of Longmen gorge was blocked at the beginning. When the summer floods occurred, the water on the north side of the gorge could not be drained, causing the villages in the north to suffer from disasters year after year, while the villages in the south side of the gorge had not been affected because the gorge was not permeable at that time. The village on the north side of the flood discharge gorge refused the request of the owner of the village. After the matter was known by xiaozhulong, the deacon of Xunyu, in order to persuade the rich man to open the mountain and divert water, he turned into a young man and went to the rich man's home to work. When the local rich man knew the situation, he pushed the young man into a well. In the well, piggy dragon began to arch the stone hill with his mouth. After seven to forty-nine days, he finally opened a water channel. In the end, due to the exhaustion of his strength, he did not arch the hill completely, thus forming two cave shaped stone arches.
