Shankou town

Shankou Town, located in Daiyue district, Tai'an City, Shandong Province, began in the Shang Dynasty and was named Shankou in the Han Dynasty because it was surrounded by Mount Tai in the East, West and North. During the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, it was one of the famous villages and towns in Tai'an County. It is located at the eastern foot of Mount Tai, the junction of mountain and plain, facing Zhuyang town across the river in the East, qiujiadian town in the south, Shengzhuang town in the West and Huangqian town in the north.

Shankou town has a warm temperate continental climate with four distinct seasons and moderate warm and cold climate. The terrain is high in the north and low in the south, which is a part of Tailai plain. Ji Lin highway passes through the town, with convenient transportation, merchants gathering, rich products, known as "jinshankou".

History of construction

The history of Shankou being inhabited can be traced back to the Shang Dynasty, and it belonged to the state of Lu in the spring and Autumn period. According to legend, the village was established in the Western Han Dynasty. From 1735 to 1910, Shankou was located in Xingren Township, Tai'an County. In 1912, it belonged to Xingren District of Tai'an County. In 1930, it belonged to the fourth district. In 1941, it belonged to Huangshan District of northern Thailand. In 1945, it belonged to Shankou District of Tai'an County. In 1948, it belonged to the third district, and later changed to Shankou district. Yamaguchi commune was founded in 1958. In 1960, Zhuyang commune was incorporated. Zhuyang commune was restored in 1962. changed to Shankou office in June 1984. changed to Shankou town in May 1985.
