Longhua Town

Longhua town has been a commercial market town in Xianyou County of Xinghua Prefecture since ancient times. It is adjacent to Licheng street in the northeast, Linan town in the East, Laidian town in the southeast, Luoxi town and Hongshan Town in Jinjiang county (Luojiang District) in the south, Lefeng town and Xiangyang town in Nan'an City in the southwest, waishan town in Yongchun County in the west, Huyang town in Yongchun County in the northwest, and Daji town across Mulan River in the north.

In the second year of the first Yuan Dynasty of the Western Han Dynasty (85 BC), it belonged to Yexian / Houguan County of Yangzhou. The third year of Wu Yong'an (260), the grandson of the Three Kingdoms, belongs to Nan'an County of Jian'an county. Tang Wude five years (622), is a Fengzhou Putian County. Tang Shengli two years (699), belongs to wurongzhou Xianyou County Fuan town. Longhua town is located in the southwest of Xianyou County, 5km away from the county in the East. Three suburban highways (306 provincial highway) pass through the town. There is also the Longhua exit of Fu Zhao Expressway (Xianyou west exit), which is located in Diaofeng village, Longhua town.

The town governs 16 administrative villages and 279 villager groups. In 2017, the administrative area was 6047 hectares, with 45145 permanent residents.

Historical evolution

In the second year of the first Yuan Dynasty of the Western Han Dynasty (85 BC), it belonged to Yexian County of Yangzhou (in Rongcheng).

In 196, the first year of Jian'an in the Eastern Han Dynasty, it belonged to Houguan County of Yangzhou. Ye County was renamed Houguan county.

The third year of Wu Yong'an (260), the grandson of the Three Kingdoms, belongs to Dong'an County of Jian'an county. Fujian Province set up Jian'an county (in Jian'an county), and the south of Houguan county set up Dong'an County (the predecessor of Nan'an county).

The third year of Taikang in the Western Jin Dynasty (282) belongs to Jin'an county. In the south of Jian'an County, Jin'an county was set up (in Houguan county), and Dong'an County was changed into Jin'an county (the predecessor of Nan'an county).

Sui kaihuang nine years (589), belongs to Jin'an County Nan'an county. Jin'an county was renamed Nan'an county.

Sui Daye three years (607), belongs to Jian'an County Nan'an county. Jian'an county is located in Min county.

Tang Wude first year (618), belongs to Jianzhou Nan'an county. Jianan county was changed to Jianzhou (in Min County, moved to Jianan County in the fourth year of Wude).

Tang Wude five years (622), is a Fengzhou Putian County. Putian County is located in the middle and lower reaches of Mulan River in the northeast of Nan'an county.

Tang Shengli two years (699), belongs to wurongzhou Xianyou County Fuan town. Five towns of Qingyuan, Youyang, Taiping, Fu'an and Shibi in the west of Putian County and four villages of Tianma mountain in Nan'an county (Jiulin, Jieshan, xiuxi and Baitong) are located in Qingyuan County (three quarters of Xianyou County, excluding xingxianli / Xiyuan township).

The first year of Tang Tianbao (742), belongs to Fuan Town, Xianyou County, Quanzhou. Qingyuan County was renamed Xianyou County.

In 980, the five years of Taiping's rejuvenation of the state in Song Dynasty were divided into rendeli, zengshenli and baodeli in Fuan Town, Xianyou County, Xinghua army. In 1997, it governed 20 village committees, including lighthouse, Tuanjie, Aihe, longxilin, Dongfang, Jianhua, Pingyuan, Daban, xiangban, Xiangyun, Xianglin, Xinfeng, Diaofeng, Hongxing, Hongqi, Linnei, Jinxi, Jinjian, Jinsha and Jinshan.

Longhua town traffic is very convenient, Sanjiao Road (also known as 306 provincial road, Sanming to Jiaowei) runs through the whole territory from west to East. All village roads in the town extend in all directions, and all village roads are cemented and connected with provincial roads to form a network.

History and Humanities

Longhua township was founded in 1984, and in 1993, the township was removed to build a town.

During the Ming Dynasty, Wei Sheng, a national hero, led the people's army to fight against Japanese pirates. After being beheaded, he still rode on his horse and rushed to the enemy's front. He only fell down after a shot went into the enemy's chest. This is the origin of the town's Motou (headless).

During the period of democratic revolution, the masses of Jinshan, Dongqi, kengni and other revolutionary villages in the town made great contributions to the establishment of new China.

Scenic Spots and Historical Sites

Longhua Temple

Longhua temple, the first temple in the south of the Yangtze River, was built by Weisheng monk to refine Buddhism. Up to now, there is a "imperial edict" stele temple in the temple, and there is a tomb of Sui Dynasty national teacher beside it. Therefore, he Qiaoyuan, the Minister of Ming Dynasty, wrote a poem: "Huang Huang Jian ordered Sui yang to build a temple at the foot of the mountain.". The ancient couplets of Longhua Temple are also: "the ancient temples of Sui Dynasty are unparalleled in the world, and the precious buildings in Xianyi are permanent here.".

Longhua temple was built in 686 ad. The six stone pillars and their foundations of the front porch of Puhui nunnery, which still exist today, have been repeatedly identified by Luo Zhao, a professor of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, as one of the oldest architectural relics on the ground in Fujian Province.

The song, yuan and Ming Dynasties were the heyday of Longhua temple. The temple was majestic and large-scale, with more than 800 monks and five national masters. Therefore, the 64 temples of the first generation in central Fujian were appointed to be under the jurisdiction of Longhua temple. Wang Mai, a contemporary, affirmed that Longhua Temple was "the first famous temple in the south of the Yangtze River".

Celebrities Zheng Ji, Chen Dang, Ke Qian, Liu Kezhuang, Wang Mai, Jiang Yi, Lin Heng and Lin Jisun all came here to visit, write poems and live in seclusion. Poet Liu Kezhuang chanted "Longhua Temple" and said: "the prime minister has no family, once lived in the temple, and has the word" still stay in nunnery ". In the poem, "prime minister" refers to the Prime Minister Ye of Xianyou in Qiandao, and "Bingjun" refers to the famous writer Lin Yu in Xianyou.

According to the imperial edict, the number one scholar of the Yuan Dynasty invited the famous monk Wuyin of Longhua temple to give lectures in Beijing for the second time. He specially left a stone inscription of "long live mountain, Yihai year of Yuantong" on the baochuang mountain behind the temple as a memento.

Longhua temple has experienced more than one thousand years and has been revived and abolished several times. Now, in the golden age, Longhua temple is undergoing large-scale reconstruction and expansion. The 1.8-meter elevation of the main hall is one of the wonders.

At present, Longhua town is making concerted efforts to reproduce the glory of "the first famous temple in Jiangnan".
