Shimen town belongs to Langao County, Ankang City, Shaanxi Province. It is located in the west of Langao County and the upper reaches of dadaohe River Basin. It is named Shimen because of its two mountain walls at the junction of Hengxi River and Landa highway. It borders Changliang village of Siji town and Dongfeng Village of Chengguan town in the East, chener village of Guanyuan town in the west, Chengkou County of Chongqing City in the south, Desheng village and Shizi village of Minzhu town in the north. Historical evolution
Shimen town is located in the west of Langao County. According to legend, there was a monk carrying iron Buddha in his early years. At first, he was very light, but when he arrived at the place, he was too heavy to move. That is to say, he built iron Buddha temple here. Therefore, it was once called Tiefo. Later, it was renamed Shimen because of the two mountain walls at the junction of Hengxi River and Landa highway. In the Qing Dynasty, Langao was divided into four townships, East, West, South and North, with a total of 50 baos, and Tiefo temple was Xixiang. In the Republic of China (1912), the system of Qing Dynasty was abolished, and five districts were set up, including East, West, South, North and middle, with a total of 32 baos. Tiefo temple was the west district. In 1939, Lianbao township was changed to Tiefo township. After the liberation of Langao, the township system of the Republic of China was abolished. Since December 1949, seven districts have been set up one after another. Tiefo district is named Tiefo district after the residence of the district office. In 1982, the provincial Toponymic Committee approved that Tiefo district should be renamed Shimen District, which governs Tiefo Township, Lixin Township, Zhaxi Township, Bayi Township and Xiaogou township. In 1990, it governed Tiefo Township, Lixin Township, Zhaxi Township, Bayi Township and Xiaogou township. in December 1996, the township institutional reform, the withdrawal of district and township, with the approval of the provincial, municipal and county Party committee, the withdrawal of district and township, renamed Shimen Town, the original Shimen District of Tiefo Township, Lixin Township, Xiaogou Township and Guanyuan District of Hongguang Township were designated as Shimen town. Zhaxi Township and Bayi Township under the jurisdiction of yuanshimen District belong to Minzhu Township and Yanmen township. The town governs 26 administrative villages. In 1998, the village level administrative divisions were adjusted, 26 administrative villages were merged into 23 administrative villages, Jinzhu village was merged into Tiefo village, Quanping village and Liulin village were merged into Hongyan village. In 2002, the village administrative division was adjusted again. Pinghe village was merged in Furong Village, yinpen village in Xinsheng village, Guquan village in Sanwan village, and Panjiawan village in shuangcun village. In 2004, Sancha Village was merged into Zhuangfang village and Yingchun village into Xincang village. by the end of 2010, the town had 14 administrative villages and 1 community.

From 1990 to 2010, the main natural disasters were hail, drought, flood, wind, low temperature and frost. Hail disaster occurs twice every five years. on July 3, 1997, Hongyan village encountered a rare heavy rain for 50 years, which lasted for 10 hours. As a result, 60% of the land in the village was landslides, and more than 70% of corn, potato, flue-cured tobacco, rice and other crops were damaged. In August 1999, Xinsheng, shuangcun, Furong and other villages in Shimen town were hit by torrential rain, resulting in more than 5000 mu of corn crop. in July 2000, the 100 mu farm in Shimen town was hit by a huge flood, and more than 100 mu farms were destroyed, resulting in an economic loss of more than 500000 yuan. On August 7, 2007, there was a torrential rain in Langao, which affected a large area of local towns. Shimen was even the hardest hit area. The flood poured into the Dadao River, overturned the bank in the market town section, and rushed into the streets, schools and residential areas. The disaster affected 3392 people in 1350 households, injured 5 people, collapsed 19 houses in 8 households, caused 585 people to have difficulty in drinking water, destroyed 300 mu of farmland, 549 mu of crops, 380 mu of flue-cured tobacco, and caused direct economic loss of more than 1.5 million yuan. on July 6, 2010, a torrential rain suddenly fell in Shimen town for nearly 40 minutes, flash floods broke out, the river rose sharply, and the water collection depth of the street was as deep as 1 meter. As a result, a large area of crops in the town were affected, houses collapsed, infrastructure was seriously damaged, many roads were damaged, and Landa highway and minheng highway were interrupted, causing direct economic losses of more than 5.5 million yuan to the people (including agricultural economic losses of 2 million yuan). According to statistics, 11 villages were affected by the disaster in the whole town, and Lixin film on the Bank of Zhuangyuan River, Xiaogou film and Tiefo film on Hengxi River were the most seriously affected. There were 5234 people in 1078 households affected by the disaster, 3 injured, 117 evacuated, 1514 dead livestock, 6978 mu of affected crops, 3290 mu of no harvest area, 21 houses in 8 households collapsed, and 121 houses in 39 households were in danger. Due to the debris flow, there were 50 landslides, more than 19600 cubic meters, 6 flood dikes collapsed, 455 meters, 2 dangerous bridges, 3 drinking water projects, 1600 meters, and 4 power poles were destroyed. 2010 "7.18" torrential rain, mountain torrents and debris flow natural disasters, resulting in severe disaster in Shimen town. Mountain torrents broke out, the river surged, a large area of landslides, mud rock flow swarmed down, causing a large area of crops affected, a large number of houses collapsed, farmland was destroyed, flood dike, weir canal, drinking water engineering and other infrastructure was destroyed, traffic, communication, power, water supply were all interrupted, the total affected population of the town was 2931, the economic loss was more than 31 million yuan. Among them, 552 houses of 210 households were seriously damaged due to flood, debris flow and landslide, among which 242 houses of 96 households collapsed directly, 246 houses of 91 households were affected by landslide, 39 houses of 14 households were affected by debris flow, 25 houses of 9 households were affected by riverside gully, resulting in economic loss of 8.53 million yuan; 812 houses of 271 households were formed, resulting in economic loss of 2.27 million yuan. 9296 mu of crops, 1941 mu of konjac, 550 mu of flue-cured tobacco, 530 mu of other cash crops and 330 mu of dead crops were affected by the disaster; 135 pens collapsed, 2142 livestock and 3915 poultry died. The economic loss reached 3.16 million yuan. Flood, debris flow and landslide caused extensive damage to cultivated land, reducing land area by 1970 mu, including 225 mu of paddy field and 1745 mu of dry land, with an economic loss of 1.94 million yuan. Water, electricity, roads, communications and other infrastructure were seriously damaged. The town and all rural drinking water projects were paralyzed, the water supply network was destroyed 14000 meters, causing drinking water difficulties for 6750 people; the water conservancy facilities in the town were seriously damaged, the river embankment and weir were destroyed 5300 meters and 5000 meters respectively; the reservoir of Shimen Power Station and Hongguang power station were filled, the water intake was blocked, the machine room was seriously damaged, resulting in economic loss of 11.08 million yuan, and the river rushed into Hongguang power station Guangming primary school. The three main roads of Yueshi, Shiheng and Shihong and more than 70 kilometers of village roads were seriously damaged by floods and landslides. There were 378 road collapses of 320000 cubic meters, 44 kilometers of subgrade, 20000 square meters of pavement, 12 bridges of 240 linear meters and 29 culverts, resulting in a direct economic loss of 4.1 million yuan. In 14 villages, power supply and communication facilities were seriously damaged, and 146 Posts fell.
