Xizhaochuan town

Xizhaochuan town belongs to Shanyang County, Shangluo City, Shaanxi Province. It is located in the southeast of Shanyang County, adjacent to Zhaochuan town of Shangnan County in the East, Shifosi town and Yunxi County of Shiyan City in Hubei Province in the south, Yanping town in the West and Tianqiao town in the north. The total area is 260.1 square kilometers.

Historical evolution

Before the Qing Dynasty, it was called mengchuan. Later, because of the homophony of "cover" and "Zhao", it was named Zhaochuan. In 1982, the general survey of place names, because of the homonym with Zhaochuan, Shangnan County, even today's name.

In 1946, Zhaochuan township was established.

In November 1958, it was changed into a production management area, belonging to Zhaochuan (satellite) commune.

In August 1961, it was renamed Zhaochuan commune.

In 1982, it was renamed Xizhaochuan commune.

In 1984, the township was restored.

In April 1997, Longshan Township and Xizhaochuan Township were abolished and Xizhaochuan town was merged.

In 2001, Yanma township was incorporated into the city.
