Shimen town
Shimen town is located 19 kilometers southeast of Jiangshan City, connecting Changtai in the East, Qinghu in the north and Xiakou in the south. The exit of Huangqunan expressway is located in Shimen, which is very advantageous. There is Jianglang Mountain with beautiful scenery in the territory. The three towering stones are famous both inside and outside the province. Shimen Township and Jianglang Township were set up in 1950 (merged into Fenglin Township in 1956), Shimen commune and Jianglang commune were changed in 1958, Shimen Township and Jianglang Township were changed in 1983, and Shimen township was changed into town in 1986. In 1996, Shimen town covers an area of 72.9 square kilometers and has a population of 26000. The total land area of the town is 95.1 square kilometers, including 28152.1 mu of cultivated land, 26324.4 mu of paddy field and 1827.7 mu of dry land. Shimen town is the source of Qianjiang River and rich in water resources. There are three irrigation systems in the town: lianjianong irrigation area, tangbeilong irrigation area and Xinshan electric irrigation area. Donggang canal and Zhonggang canal of Xiakou reservoir cross the town, basically ensuring the irrigation of grain fields and water for rural residents.

Shimen governs 33 administrative villages, 1 neighborhood committee and 279 villager groups, with a total population of 27774 (2017). There are 7 schools in the town, including 2 junior high schools and 5 primary schools. Shimen branch of Chengnan kindergarten is also built, and the program-controlled telephone is opened in every village. Every village has realized the network of cable TV, and the network of cable TV. All 27 administrative villages in the town are connected with roads. Combined with the construction of Kangzhuang project, the main roads of 33 administrative villages in the town have been basically hardened. In 2004, the GDP was 213.32 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 4993 yuan.
