Zhongshan Street
Zhongshan street, subordinate to Longhua District, Haikou City, Hainan Province, is located in the north of Haikou City and the northeast of Longhua District. It is bounded by Boai road and Meilan District in the East, haixiu East Road and Haifu street in Meilan District in the south, Daying Road, Datong Road and Longhua Road in the west, Binhai street and Datong Street in Meilan District, Haidian River in the north and Haidian Street in Meilan District across the river. The maximum distance from east to west is about 1.1 km, and the maximum distance from north to south is about 2.45 km, covering a total area of 2.7 square kilometers.
In 1991, Zhongshan street was established. In 2001, Zhongshan street and Xinhua Street merged to form Zhongshan street under the jurisdiction of Xinhua District. In October 2002, Xinhua District was abolished and Longhua District was established. Zhongshan street was under the jurisdiction of Longhua District. In 2019, with the approval of the higher authorities, it is agreed to cancel the Changdi community and Yongxing community of Zhongshan street and readjust the regional scope of some communities. By the end of 2011, the total population of Zhongshan sub district was 38900, and the urban resident population was 24900. As of June 2020, Zhongshan street has jurisdiction over 9 communities, and its sub district office is located at 7 Daxing West Road.

Historical evolution
During the "Cultural Revolution", it was under the jurisdiction of Dongfanghong commune, Hongwei commune, Lixin commune and Xinhua commune.
From 1970 to 1980, it was under the jurisdiction of Zhendong district reform committee, Dongfanghong District Reform Committee and Xinhua District Reform Committee respectively.
From 1981 to 1990, it was under the jurisdiction of Bo'ai District, Xinhua District and Zhendong district respectively.
In 1991, Zhongshan street was established.
In 2001, Zhongshan street and Xinhua Street merged to form Zhongshan street under the jurisdiction of Xinhua District.
In October 2002, Xinhua District was abolished and Longhua District was established. Zhongshan street was under the jurisdiction of Longhua District.
