Hongqi farm is located in the northern foot of Tianshan Mountain, the southern edge of Junggar basin, Jimusaer, Qitai northwest Bay Township in the East, beitingduhufu site in the Tang Dynasty in the south, national highway 216 in the West and Gurbantonggut desert in the north. In 1982, it was planned to be managed by the Sixth Agricultural Division of Xinjiang production and Construction Corps. In 1987, it was listed as a poverty alleviation farm by the Corps, and in 1991, it was listed as a poverty alleviation farm by the state. In 2005, according to the requirements of BINGTUAN Party committee, it was integrated into Hongqi central farm with 107 regiment. The total land area of the farm is 2.2 million mu, with 360000 mu of arable land and 1.395 million mu of grassland, including 160000 mu of alpine grassland and 1236000 mu of desert grassland.
