Before the end of Ming Dynasty, Xianfeng town was called Xianfeng town; in January 1994, Xianfeng town was merged with Gaoya town to become Xianfeng town. Before the end of Ming Dynasty, Xianfeng town was called xianfengchang.
In the middle of Qing Dynasty, it was renamed pioneer field.
Around 1949, it was a pioneer town.
In 1953, Xianfeng township was established as Yongfeng Township.
In 1956, Yongfeng Township was merged into Xianfeng township.
In 1958, Xianfeng township was changed into Xianfeng commune.
In 1962, Xianfeng commune established Yongfeng commune.
In March 1984, Xianfeng commune was changed into Xianfeng township.
